“June 10, 2020 2:35 PM. Burn Ban in Effect NO Burn Days until further notice.”
From June 1st, 2018 notice entitled:
Valencia County Fire Department Announces Burn Ban within the unincorporated areas of Valencia County.
“With the 4th of July coming up we would also encourage all residents to use only “Safe and Sane” fireworks, No Stick-type rockets, helicopters and aerial spinners, missile- type rockets, ground audible devices firecrackers and display fireworks are prohibited within the unincorporated areas of the county,” said County Fire Chief Culp.”
There was a fire in Bosque Farms, May21st. The weather has been hot, dry and windy. There are currently 3 named wildfires and numerous unnamed wildfires burning in NM.
I understand that this puts another strain on fireworks venders, but the safety of people, property and animals is significant and justifies a ban on fireworks.
